Sikerrel zárult a Miskolci Egyetem Alkalmazott Földtudományi Kutatóintézet (AFKI), a debreceni Atommagkutató Intézet (ATOMKI) és a Szabályozott Tevékenységek Felügyeleti Hatóság (SZTFH, 2022. január 1. óta a Magyar Bányászati és Földtani Szolgálat, azaz az MBFSZ jogutódja) együttműködésével zajló projekt.

A Nógrád megyei Rákóczibányán 2022. április 28-án tartotta méltán nagy érdeklődésre szert tevő sajtónyilvános projektzáró rendezvényét a GINOP GeoCORE program. A pályázati program 2017. július 1-től kezdődően egy tudományos kutatási-oktatási és ismeretterjesztő célokat szolgáló, az ország 3 különböző telephelyén kialakított komplex, korszerű Fúrómagminta, Gyűjteményi és Laboratóriumi földtani tudás- és műszerközpont kialakítását tűzte ki célként. Az így kialakított gyűjteményi rendszer, laboratóriumi és eszközpark több kutatói, vállalati és oktatási hálózattal együttműködve egyszerre elősegítheti és biztosíthatja az ország földtani felépítéséhez kapcsolódó ásványi- és nyersanyag potenciál jelenlegi és jövőbeni maximális kihasználását és egyúttal múltbeli földtani hagyatékának méltó megőrzését, illetve későbbi tudományos vizsgálatok modern eszközökkel és környezetben történő megvalósítását is.

A nagyívű fejlesztések eredményeképpen megújult a rákóczibányai gyűjteményi bázis és a laboratórium, mely a korszerű mintaelőkészítést és tárolást is biztosítja. Az ATOMKI-ban a kor kívánalmainak megfelelő, már részben automatizált, számítógépes vezérlésű, nagy precizitású kormeghatározó tömegspektrométer került beüzemelésre, mely ásványok és kőzetek radiometrikus kormeghatározására alkalmas.

A Miskolci Egyetem Alkalmazott Földtudományi Kutatóintézetében a program harmadik megvalósulási helyszínén speciális mérési eszközök beszerzésére került sor. Intézetünk terepi számítástechnikai eszközök mellett egy PPP- 250 típusú mobil permeaméterrel, és egy Európában is kuriózumnak számító ultra alacsony permeabilitás meghatározására alkalmas Nano-K típusú permaméterrel gyarapodott, mely elsősorban a nem hagyományos szénhidrogén tároló rétegekből (pl. mészmárga, márga) származó kőzetminták áteresztőképességének, valamint kis- és közepes aktivitású radioaktív hulladékok elhelyezésére alkalmasnak feltételezett kőzetek záró képességének ellenőrzésére használható. Az adott kutatási területen a műszer üzembe helyezése megalapozza a szinergikus együttműködést és közös kutatómunkát a projekt három intézménye (SZTFH, ATOMKI, AFKI) között a tudományos, oktatási és ipari jellegű kutatások legmagasabb szintű társadalmi hasznosulásának jegyében.

Successful Geocore Project has come to an end – 3rd May 2022
A successful project has just been ended, which was a cooperation between the Research Institute of the Applied Earth Sciences (AFKI) of the University of Miskolc, the Institute for Nuclear Research (ATOMKI) Debrecen and the Supervisory Authority of Regulatory Affairs (successor of the Mining and Geological Survey of Hungary since 1st January 2022).
On 28th April 2022, in Rákóczibánya (Nógrád county) the closing event of the GINOP GeoCORE program was held, which was open for the press and worthy of attracting great attention. The project program, which was started on 1st July 2017, aimed at founding a complex, modern Drilling Core Sample, Collection and Laboratory geologic knowledge and engineering centre at 3 different institutions in the country, with scientific research, education and dissemination purposes. Such a collection system, laboratory and equipment park, in cooperation with a network of researchers, companies and educational institutions, can promote and also ensure the current and future maximum exploitation of the mineral and raw material potential of the country's geological structure, while on the other hand, it can also provide a due preservation of its past geological heritage, along with the realization of future scientific studies to be carried out and with up-to-date equipment in a modern environment.
As a result of the major improvements, the collection base and the laboratory in Rákóczibánya has been renewed, which ensures the up-to-date sample preparation and storage. In the ATOMKI, an up-to-date, partly automated, computer controlled, high precision mass spectrometer was installed, which is suitable for radiometric age determination.
The Research Institute of the Applied Earth Sciences of the University of Miskolc was the third location where the project works took place, there, special measurement devices were purchased. Besides field computer tools, a PPP-250 type mobile permeameter and a Nano-K type permeameter arrived to our Institute. The Nano-K permeameter can be considered a unique device in Europe, which is suitable to measure ultra low permeability of rock samples (marl, calcareous marl) originating from non-conventional hydrocarbon layers, and to inspect the seal capacity of rocks are forecasted to have ability to store low or medium activity radioactive waste. The installation of the device at the given research field means the basics of the synergic cooperation and mutual research between the three institutions (SZTFH, ATOMKI, AFKI) of the project, ensuring the highest level social benefits of the scientific, educational and industrial research.
